BIOGRAPHY OF ANITA SHAW

Anita Shaw was born, raised and educated in New York City, subsequently living in Florida, Massachusetts and currently in California. During these many moves, she negotiated her time and efforts between business, art, teaching, writing, and editing, and on occasion combining all five.

Shaw developed a singular course "Watercolors Made Easy" and presented it at libraries and on cruise ships. Self-taught she also paints in acrylics and oils, was President of the art league in Melbourne, FL, partnered in an art gallery, and was a national art contest winner, always focusing on promulgating the importance of art in her community.

Winning many awards, Shaw has exhibited in museums, universities, government buildings, airports, performing art centers, art galleries and festivals in various states. Her paintings are now in private collections worldwide and she has been interviewed on radio and TV.

Her literary achievements include writing a monthly column, "Portrait of an Artist," for many years in Brevard Live (a Florida magazine), and contributing articles to Nations Business, Back to the Bronx, and various travel magazines.

Now she has added her two books: "ALWAYS FLOWERS" - a colorful, informative coffee table book, and "WHO AM I?" - an inspirational children's book.
